Consortium visits the blood establishment ‘DRK-Blutspendedienst Baden-Württemberg – Hessen gemeinnützige GmbH’

On 14 September 2020, the BISKIT-consortium visited the blood establishment DRK-Blutspendedienst Baden-Württemberg – Hessen gemeinnützige GmbH to get an in-depth understanding about the question how information technology may help to assure the supply of quality-assured and safe blood products. During this visit, we were able to see different steps of the blood supply chain, talk about its vulnerability to crises, and discuss the use of digital solutions for stock management (amongst others). We thank our colleagues from the DRK-Blutspendedienst Baden-Württemberg – Hessen gemeinnützige GmbH for their time. The insights we got are very valuable for our BISKIT project. You can find the press relase the Working Group for Interdisciplinary Security Research of the Freie Universität Berlin published on their website here (in German language only).
