On Wednesday, the 18th January 2023, a team from the ERCIS Competence Centre for Crisis Management hosted representatives from various research and practitioner groups in the context of the research project “Blood Information System for Crisis Intervention and Management” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
The participants provided insights into their current research activities and joint design science as well as software development workshops were conducted on the subsequent day. The achieved results comprise innovative solutions capable of improving the crisis resilience of the associated African Blood Services.
We are looking forward to see the final results of the project in action during final presentations at the projects conclusion in upcoming June, which include a simulation and optimization framework to evaluate digital innovations in the blood supply chains, a chatbot for improved donor management, as well as an integrated app-based information system providing end-to-end operational support for all organisations interacting within these blood supply chains.
