On 19th & 20th June 2023, the BISKIT consortium hosted various stakeholders and the funding institution Federal Ministry of Education and Research, represented by VDI, for the project closing workshop at Technical University of Darmstadt.
The workshop aimed at presenting the final project results to our stakeholders. Representatives from National Blood Service Ghana, African Society for Blood Transfusion, Bayero University Kano and Greifswald University Medicine attended the workshop and provided valuable feedback and input to the BISKIT project. We would like to thank all our stakeholders in this regard. In the evening, we enjoyed dinner together and reflected on the joint successful journey throughout the years.
On day two, we had several work meetings to finetune the results and implementation requirements with our stakeholders. In the afternoon, we had the opportunity to visit the production facilities of Wingcopter. Wingcopter provides drone solutions for humanitarian applications and is currently operating in Malawi for on-demand medical delivery including blood bags.
The project funding started in April 2020 and terminates in June 2023. The consortium partners are eager to apply for further funding in order to pilot and implement the BISKIT Information System and Android App as well as other promising results of the project phase, i.e., the Chatbot-Application, Simulation/Optimization environment and any further. In this regard, we are in promising discussions with practitioners in several African countries and hope for good news soon. Any updates on the project will be posted on this website.
