Results discussed with project partners at our first virtual workshop!

Today, we implemented a workshop with one of our project partners to present first results stemming from our remote data collection conducted in October, November, and December 2020. In this workshop, we showed how different parts of the blood supply chain may be impacted by different crisis scenarios. In addition, we highlighted several areas where information technology might contribute to the resilience of blood transfusion systems by facilitating day-to-day management, contributing to crisis preparedness, and assuring effective management in times of crises. Based on these presentations, we moved to breakout sessions where we discussed the potential of the BISKIT information system (see figure below) with our project partners. We are thankful for the constructive discussions, and looking forward to moving the project forward!
